And 80% are English speaking. The US thing isn't surprising, given 
the population size and the 'free speech, we can do anything we damn 
well please' ethos. (had to struggle to stop myself from using the 
incongruent term 'ethic')

May also be due to technological advancement in the overall 
population (read: pimply teenagers with too much time on their hands)?
