This has to be a joke!

Changing ISPs, especially from AOL, is not a sign of trying to get to a
hacker friendly provider. AOL houses hundreds of hackers and SPAMERS and
provides the protection to prevent anti-hacking protocols getting back to
the hacker to take them out!

No Hacker is going to be interested in a "faster" video card, and in fact
any real hacker is going to use whatever they can get their hands on that
particularly isn't too modern as most modern hardware has too many "built
in features" that make life a little harder.

Lets face it, Hacking is about making this that aren't suppose to do things
to do them. A faster video card is a sign of gaming, not hacking.

And since when is AMD processors "inferior" and
"knock-offs" seriously. And with Intel chips now including "phone home"
ability, one wonders why a USA based entity might promote people away from
uncontrolled hardware.

"Programming with Perl" is a hacking book?

I hope this parent never let their son watch "Hackers" or "The Net" :)

DOS means using the command prompt to access other people's machines? And
requires more than 30 minutes a day in front of the computer? Gee didn't
know you had to be at the computer to run programs and lets face it, DOS
doesn't require a command prompt!

This has to be a satyr. Surely?

And Point 8 - all the Open Source operating systems are developed by a
Soviet Hacker - <sigh>

I think some of the well thought out comments trying to determine if the
article is for real or a joke say it all. Is the author, if for real,
serious about their limited view, and they believe that? (Then again, as I
was challenged in the Supreme Court to explain how a year ago I knew a
question was going to be asked by the Cross Examiner and how I obtained
files off a computer dated 2001 and 2003 in 1998, it really just never
ceases to amaze me.)

I think I'll stop. The world is narrow minded enough to have to put more
in my mind :)
