And with Windows, presumably.

A fairly clean Windows XP box, fully patched -- and manually cross-checked
to ensure it did have the specific Hotfix -- changed times anyway. The
solution was to open the Date/Time control panel, set it to a date last
week, hit "Apply", then set it back to today's date and hit "Apply" again.

(I've no idea what would've happened with appointments in Outlook, I use a
Mac for that sort of thing.)

But back to Linux, see below for two Fedora Core 4 boxes, both with the
correct time zone data -- one of which stayed with AEDT and the other of
which changed back to AEST. Weird.
