Me?  God no.  The first com.au I tried to register was "word.com.au" but 
Rob Elz refused to let me have it :(  That was 1993 or there about.

To be honest, I think the only real way to find out will be to contact 
Robert directly and ask him.

My first registered domain name (for my purposes) was ah.net in 1994.  (NSI 
stuffed up the database in 1996 or 1997 and reset our created date :< But I 
have zone and registry files from 1993 to 2000 for com and net :) )

Of course the "alterative" .aus was set up in 1990 :)
