Never say never :-)
I for one will top-post whenever it seems the right way to do it. You
can live with it, ignore it, or fume over it - not my problem.
It's quite appropriate to tell a newbie that top-posting is evil and
that bottom-posting is the right way to go, and I quite agree that
top-posting is generally a bad way to go (particularly when many replies
are interleaved, or when your email is part of a discussion that is
likely to continue). Bottom-posting should definitely be the default.
But I'm a big boy and quite able to decide for myself when it is
appropriate and when not. Sometimes it is, Craig - for me, and
apparently also for others; that doesn't mean you have to agree, and
certainly doesn't mean YOU have to use top-posting, not if YOU don't
want to.
Regards, K.
PS: Do "top-posting" and "bottom-posting" sound like some sort of
strange sexual practices to anyone else, or is it just me? Oh; it's just
me. OK...
