there has just been a furore over a change from angle to parallel
parking in the local neighbourhood. The newspaper reports said the RTA
erected the parking signs in the wrong place...and the council then went
along and booked people...there was also an issue of consultation with 
local residence
and safety or possibly traffic flow through the inner west.

frankly, my vote is to slow/inconvenience private vehicular traffic in
the inner city and encourage commuters to use public transport.
