Thanks for the replies, all. I sent the issue to Google, but then I found 
my way to the Firefox support forum and did a search on google:

I wasn't alone. Others had the same thing happen today and it seems it was 
related to the Googlepedia extension in Firefox. Uninstalling it stopped 
the reduction to titles and gave me my descriptions back. Weird, eh?
