I'd imagine that the vast majority of viewers wouldn't know it was happening and, if they did, wouldn't care. A significant number may be, like,

"Hey Brandine - this new teeveeoh box is great! I gets ads fer stuff I buys an' cares about - like guns an' beer - instead o' stuff I don't, like underwear, an' they cerputer thangs!"
