Well, in spite of assertions on Websites to the contrary, the Linux 
support for the particular printer is non-existent. It simply don't 
print; the computer thinks it's printed, but nothing comes out.

The Linux side

Note that everything else worked, and I'm about 75% happy so far - but 
as for the bit that didn't work, well: it just didn't!...
