Hi Roger and Link,
Regarding this topic, Roger started the thread by sending a media release
and URL for a World FOI report: www.privacyinternational.org/foi/survey
I read it for Australia, and quite a number of other countries, and
copied the present-day sections on Link [starting with a full stop for
list abbreviation and (snip) in the body]. With my positive single FOI
experience (for reasons academic), and in comparison, I made a positive
observation based on the stats and actual resources in place regarding
FOI in Australia
Roger then expressed concern that the text I had quoted didn't reflect
what FOI is actually like in Australia. Fair enough too, I had certainly
edited a large amount of text in order to reasonably send key-points to
the Link mailing list, but the devil can be in details.
Revisiting this, I believe Roger may have thought I posted the entire
entry and wrote Link believing that the survey approach had been from a
specifically privacy perspective.
Ah well, my apologies Roger if you formed this opinion from my quick cut
and paste as it may not appear the case. But no intention to mislead, and
my positive review overall of the Australian results remain unchanged :-)
Cheers Roger
