[LINK] And still the dumb things happen on the Web

...Since it's too late to call the company anyhow...

After the winds of the weekend I need a skip. There's just too much pine
frond trash for a mulcher to cope, and anyhow as I found (damn, AFTER I
bought the mulcher), pine fronds blunt the blades. In seconds.
Generally, I find myself opening the mulcher to sharpen the blades after
about two fronds, and right now I have about a hundred. So I need a skip.

I have, for years, picked on a local, Aussie Skips,
www.aussieskips.com.au, chiefly because I could book the skip online.

But Aussie Skip was hosted on Citysearch, and Aussie Skips still thinks
it is hosted on Citysearch. The Website works fine ...

Except.

Then you hit the button for the form to book the skip and get the
Citysearch redirect:

>
> You are being redirected to the new citysearch.com.au.
>
> The new site has been redesigned to focus on local entertainment
> options in your city. With reviews, ratings and recommendations across
> Restaurants, Films, Bars and Clubs, TV, Music and The Arts, it's the
> destination to enable you to make the most of your city.
>
And on the *new* Citysearch site, there is no Aussie Skips. And no
booking form.

So if I remember - I'm notorious for forgetting phone calls! - I call
the company in the morning to book the skip, *and* to ask them if
they're still getting charged by Citysearch for a Website which
Citysearch has broken so as to focus on "Restaurants, Films, Bars and
Clubs, TV, Music and the Arts" and to fsck with some poor sap who runs a
skip company and doesn't understand the Web...

I'm accustomed to Web companies treating non-savvy customers as sheep to
be fleeced, but this is a real crock.
