Another is if the farmers starting charging more than cost + <10% at the
farm gate and were getting real value for their produce then there would be
some real equity in the market.  There are a lot of people riding on the
backs of the poor old farmer.  

The world isn't a simple place and fixes in any one area will not make a
great impact.
