Just a quick update to say that Google Reader also supports secure HTTP:
https://www.google.com/reader/
In theory this should mean that nobody (except Google) can intercept
your session and find out what articles you are reading. Unless they
can see over your shoulder!
It looks like Facebook doesn't support secure HTTP, at least for now.
Also, in the mail quoted above I didn't mean to imply that Facebook was
operated by Google.
