The article fails to mention the applications that are targeting user's
PCs. Is it malware embedded in a page? Or is it the kind of thing that
a user clicks on, downloads and installs, anticipating some Great New
App on their computer?
The article fails to mention the only operating system on which this
is occurring. I must conclude that it is MS Windows, since continual
references are made to Symantec and Norton AV, whose products are
only required on Windows.
Until cowardly reports such as this actually mention the root cause of the
problem, i.e. the flawed architecture of a toy "operating system" (I use that
term with great hesitation), they are basically pi**ing into the wind.
