iAwards, Australia's ICT industry awards

<http://www.aiia.com.au/i-cms.isp?page=243>

iAwards are Australia's information and communications technology (ICT)
industry awards. The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA)
runs iAwards as the Australian member of the Asia-Pacific ICT Awards.

New iAwards Program

In 2008 AIIA is taking a fresh approach to the iAwards to increase the
opportunities for ICT companies and emerging talent to be showcased at
both a state and national level.

This new program will judge entries firstly at a state level so that state
iAward winners can be recognised locally. State winners will then go on to
compete at a national level, where they present to a judging panel against
winners from other states and territories.

This revised program expands the opportunities for recognition and
encourages a new generation of iAwards nominees to raise their profile and
demonstrate the value of the ICT industry to business and the broader
community.

The AIIA state and national iAwards program also feeds into the Asia-
Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA). National winners in each category will be
invited to represent Australia in Indonesia in late 2008 where they will
compete against entrants from other APICTA member economies, including
Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia,
Myanmar, the Philippines, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and
Vietnam.

State Awards

Nominations open 14 January 2008

Nominations close 7 March 2008

State winners will be announced at AIIA state events by 25 March 2008

State award winners will become finalists for the national iAwards. They
will be asked to present to a panel of judges in Melbourne over two days,
7-8 May 2008.

National iAwards

National judging follows the presentation of state winners at the end of
March, at which time national finalists are notified of their presentation
time over a 2-day period on 7-8 May 2008 in Melbourne.

At this time, national finalists will present to a panel of judges from
the industry and compete with other state winners.

The winners of the national iAwards will be announced at AIIA’s gala event
at the spectacular Palladium and Crown in South Bank, Melbourne, on 28 May
2008, supported by Multimedia Victoria.
