That raises another issue.

Didn't Howard say he wasn't going to move from his family home into 
Kirribilli house, in order to save the tax payer money?  Or was that just 
another election promise :)

Now bloody Rudd is on that wagon.  Sheesh.

As much as I think it's a "cool" concept, there are so many issues and 
ramifications.  It's cheaper and easier for Kirribilli and the Lodge to be 
used accordingly, that's why they are there and that's why the tax payer is 
paying for them regardless of it's inhabitants.

It also make sit easier for the tourists to target their shots :)
