In Melbourne, we are seeing more and more planning like this,
probably most recently already past during the Australian Open where
trams were free if you had an Open ticket (you still needed to get to
the city, though, so meant nothing to me). This coming Sunday a
public transport ticket will get you free admission to the domestic
cricket finals at the MCG. There was also free transport with
Commonwealth Games tickets last year.
Of course if you live in my suburb, and wanted to do anythign during
peak hour, you would think you were on a moving human body 'traffic'
jam ON the train!
