No need to be snide, Craig.

If you're ever in Ft Myers Florida or whatever the town was in New 
Jersey where he worked, it's worth going to the Edison Museum. His 
accomplishments were incredible. Nit pick about the first person to 
do x or y, you can't argue with the range of applications he came up 
with for incandescent light (movies), networked town electricity, 
mechanical sound production to name a few. The research he was 
involved in for use of plant materials in production was amazing as well.
