It is hard to imagine that many bottles: 10,957,500,000 per year.
And that is just the USA.
And to think that prior to plastic, all bottles were glass and ceramic,
and were practically 100% reused. My last use of reuseable glass
milk bottles was here in Sydney in the early 1980's. At that time,
a few 600 mL bottles of milk could be found on the bottle shelf
of some dairy fridges.
