Thanks for trying, Roger. Animated ads make web sites unusable for me, so I use Adblocker to eliminate them when I'm at home on Firefox. At work, where I'm forced to use IE, if I can't move the ad offscreen by repositioning the window, I simply close the page and forego the opportunity to read the site other than in the most exceptional of circumstances.

By any count you'd have to say that that's counterproductive for both the site and its advertisers. They want me to read both the site and their ads, but what they serve up is so distracting that I do neither.
