Those of you interested in possible EMF health problems should note that a
Swiss study of 20,000 railway workers followed for 30 years (a very robust
study), has shown dose-related links between exposure to low frequency (ie
mains frequency) magnetic field fluctuations, and both myeloid leukaemia and
Hodgkin's lymphoma.
The report is in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
I'll post the abstract when it arrives.
Also, a Finnish research group has now provided a rational reason why
there's been so much unexplained variation in some EMF research and
replication studies.
They found with in-vitro (laboratory) experiments, that primary cell-lines
(those taken directly from an animal) react quite differently to those cells
cultured in the laboratory.
With most chemical and toxicological research, cultured cells and primary
cells have been seen as equivalents for research purposes -- so studies
haven't normally bothered to differentiate between these cells.
The Finns now suggest that this is not so with EMF exposures.
