I too think however, that I will patent the protocol called "LICK"

This must be a record on Link:

1,415 characters, 204 words, 15 lines - all for a footer to a text  
response that consisted of less than 300 characters.

Martin: have you considered asking if your department would  
reconsider the savings in bytes and electrons that might occur if the  
department adopted a sensible .sig? We could turn off at least one  
coal-fired generator by my back-of-envelope calculations.

I know that we've covered this endless times, but it's impossible to  
enforce most of what is in the .sig, and especially the part that  
prohibits downloading of the contents if you're not the addressee.  I  
thought lawyers were meant to follow logic, but the department of  
public works is obviously not working.
