Hardly. Anyone worth being a business associate or friend will  
contact you personally, not via the facebook process (linkin etc).  
I've done much the same to invitations like these: from time to time  
it is worth prodding and poking about in such places, but I'm yet to  
see any benefit from being associated with someone or a business this  
way.
