i had one from an electricity company a few weeks back (can't remember
which one....Origin, i think). when i answered the door, he told me that
because i was such a good customer and prompt payer they were giving me
the opportunity to sign up to a better deal.

i asked him "am i actually a customer of your company?"

when he admitted i wasn't, i blasted him for lying to me and told him
where to go.

it still pisses me off now when i think about it. lying bastard. i'm
sure he was just saying what he'd been told to say but his company's
lack of honesty and ethics doesn't excuse his participation in the lie.

ps: door-knocking is illegal in my suburb, the People's Republic of
Moreland (as labelled by Jeff).
