Let's get some perspective here. *NOTHING* leaves this planet except
a few helium atoms and satellites. All these rare elements are still
here, albeit perhaps combined into different forms.

And let's not forget that if the earth were an apple, we are not even
mining to the depth of the apple skin. Far from it. As time progresses,
technology improves and needs deepen, we can mine for practically
anything we want deeper and deeper into the earth's crust.

p.s. if we are living on this apple, the atmosphere that keeps us
alive and protects us from cosmic radiation is thinner than the
misty layer left by breathing on the apple.
