Hi all,
It's not a lot of notice for those who need reminding, or haven't realised it's happening, but the closing date for comments on the auDA Names Policy Panel Issues Paper is tomorrow - Friday 15 June.
The 2007 Names Policy Panel is currently considering changes to .au policy, including:
* allowing direct registrations in .au (eg. name.au)
* changes to .au eligibility and allocation policy rules
* allowing registrants to sell their .au domain names.
The Issues Paper is available online from http://auda.org.au/news-archive/auda-18052007/ or http://auda.org.au/2007npp/2007npp-index/. It would be great for people with an interest in the above to take some time to address the issues raised. Even if, when reading the Issues Paper, you think things should stay as they are, you can make these comments. Or forward the announcement on to others who may not be on Link and who may not be aware of the consultation.
As an auDA board member and member of the Names Policy Panel, I'd also be happy to receive comments. There are also some news stories on the Names Policy Panel available from my website under the domain names sub-heading. See http://technewsreview.com.au/
Cheers
David
