The fire along our part of the ridge was so strong that they didn't
have to cart away very much of the remnants of some of the old wooden
poles. (And I doubt if they could even find the pools of plastic and
metal that were the newly-installed TransACT black boxes).
The fallen timber on the ridge - including several very picturesque
ex-trees that my wife and daughter had photographed in the past - was
completely gone, to the point of not being able to see where it had
been.
I was just loking yesterday at a dozen trees directly above us that
are *still* in recovery-mode, after 4-1/2 years. A few are still
trying to shoot from the branches, but most have given up and are
copsing from the roots.
