True - but unfortunately Linux does contribute through misconfigured
mail servers that act as open relays. This problem is not as big as it
once was as most distros (certainly all the major ones likely to be used
by newbies) install an MTA default config that won't act as an open
relay (eg listening only on 127.0.0.1).
