[LINK] Australian teachers advocate a China style firewall for Australian internet users

Well ... it hardly counts as a privileged form of expression does it?

Nor is "Ratemy whatever" an admirable outfit. Its broader activities
tickle my "email harvester" antennae ... simply dozens of sites whose
premise is "you can dump on your
teacher/professor/doctor/lawyer/pub/club/vet as long as you give us your
name and e-mail address". Oh, "ad supported" by yet more marketing
harvesters (Freepay network, Freeipod network, "click to win!" with
commenters working the bulletin boards saying "it's real! I won a
<gadget>!").

For some strange reason I don't see bottom-feeders as bastions of anything.

And yes, the firewall scheme is prime stupidity, and a thin skin is more
likely to get bruised.
