Some friends of mine have just launched Bonzle - a digital atlas of
Australia.

http://maps.bonzle.com

In the past I've asked for reflections from interested members of the
Link Institute on their work and they've been glad of the quality of
feedback they've received.

This latest effort seems to me to add some damn clever and interesting
features, so if anyone has the time and inclination to play around with
it I'd be grateful.

Here's how they describe it:

Maps and info on more than 230,000 places in Australia including Cities,
Towns and Villages, Roads, Rivers, Waterfalls, Springs, Bores Deserts,
Lakes, Mountains, Bays, Beaches, Caves, Capes, Gorges, Nature Reserves,
Huts, Pinnacles, Lighthouses, Homesteads, Mines, Airports, Channels and
Passages and Islands. Over 1 million pages of information.
