The attempts to get a Reva car <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/REVA>
into Australia have run into resistance by the automotive industry.
As a cyclist the suggestion that it is "unsafe' is a bit laughable.
It's safety has also come into question in the Uk recently <http://
www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2007210569,00.html> but do you apply
the same standards as you would to a car or treat it as a quadricycle
and their standards it meets?

With peak oil immanent as well as global warming we will need to
look at a lot of different energy efficient vehicles such as the
twike <http://www.twike.com/>. Even DaimlerChrysler's Smart fortwo is
looking at an electric version <http://car-reviews.automobile.com/
news/smart-goes-electric-with-fortwo-ev/1984/>.
