"Internet of Things" is missing the point, like the idea of adapting
e-mail for carrying paper letters was.
As the information about objects is put on the Internet, it will be
the Internet which makes the objects of value and "real". Delete the
information from the Internet and many objects will become worthless
and for practical purposes cease to exist.
An "Internet of Things" would then be a tautology, much as prefixing
"mail" with "electronic" is now unnecessary.
