I tend to think that the RFID chip is almost a trivial part of the threat to
society when compared to ChoicePoint, especially now that it has developed
its DNA database and is providing DNA analysis to the USA's anti-terrorist
organisations.
It was apparently primarily responsible for the identification of the human
remains found in the twin-tower collapse, and it supplies the FBI with its
services in rape cases in the USA. It also provided the base data used in
Florida in 2000 to purge the electoral records of supposed felons (with
about 85% inaccuracy).
When you couple this growing national DNA database with fingerprints,
government records, internet usage and consumer buying patterns, you've
probably got almost everything you want to run a totalitarian state.
RFID and Biometrics are just icing on the cake.
