Hey, this is Microsoft, it would be incredibly unlikely that they
produce a truly innovative product. I assumed they had bought it
from somewhere but then how much does Microsoft spend on R&D? What
do they have to show for it?
Last year someone sent me these links so it's clear other people are
working in this area and these guys brought this out in 2005:

and I read a few weeks ago people talking about patents for
multitouch interaction on the net.
