This started as a fad years ago when CSS was introduced
and has become an all out flood of incompetence in navigation.

At the very least, a clickable links should be a different colour
and change change colour once it has been visited.

Unfortunately we live in an era of style over substance, so
I don't see a return to the original intent of hypertext
link design any time soon.
