And therein lies the circular irony of the whole exercise.
The target audience is most capable of modifying their web
viewing "experience" (a term I loathe) so that (a) the page
loads quickly and (b) flash crap is not shown at all.

I wonder sometimes whether web efforts like this are targeted
at managers and HR staff who will eventually decide if the
web team deserve a pay rise.
