Peter Dengate Thrush, a New Zealand lawyer, has been elected 
unanimously as the new Chairman of the Board of the Internet 
Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Peter Dengate 
Thrush, who has been involved since ICANN began, will replace 
retiring Chair, Dr Vint Cerf. Australia's Dr Paul Twomey who is 
ICANN's President and CEO, welcomed the appointment.
