Yes but the BOTTOM line (literally in the story) says "Someone just 
gave it to us so we're keeping it."

Tends to imply that someone with a greater claim to the domain name 
used the process to obtain the name.

No doubt the intermediary has a bit of a thing about the Record 
Industry.  Wouldn't surprise me if it's a well known Artist :)
