Total cluelessness if they provide their authorisation crendentials
to a third part. That is rule # 1 of passwords and PINs: DO NOT PROVIDE
TO ANYONE ELSE.

The originating article stated this:

"Once one signs up, it [Quechup] accesses your address book ..."

Sounds like "it" is accessing "locally stored address book" since
that is the only place one would be guaranteed to actually have an
address book. Anyway, this is simply inaccurate reportage which can
easily mislead a computer literati into making technically accurate
but incorrect conclusions.
