Perhaps a judicious application of the DMCA (2000) would assist with a more
compliant attitude.

Disingenuous crap if you ask me. Without the threat of legal action,
no action would have been taken. Lurk on the "GPL licence violations"
mailing list for many more examples of inaction and stonewalling ...
until the threat of legal action arises.

"Since we intend to and always intended to comply with all open source
software license requirements, we are confident that the matter will
be quickly resolved,” said Graham Radstone, Chairman and Chief Operating
Officer at Monsoon Multimedia.
Hrm ... that statement seems to belie what was reported earlier, i.e.
it took the threat of legal action to get HAVA to this stage, after
months of ignoring pleas from the open source community to comply with
the GPL.
This result shows the power of a copyright licence or the fear that it
can engender.
