One wonders how a Vista machine is going to fare in the face
of this onslaught.

Think about this:

   * the intelligence of lusers has not increased in the last year

   * the takeup rate of Vista (20% max??) means that any new anti-
     attack systems from Mickeysoft are having minimal overall effect

   * the sophistication and determination of crims taking over
     Windows boxes as zombies, given the lucrative million dollar
     rewards, far exceeds the increase in awareness, alertness and
     alarmedness of lusers

AFAIK, the anti-virus industry has no effective inoculation to
counter mutating computer virii. Just like AIDS and Real Space (tm).
