Stephen, is "IT" your term, or does Melbourne University use IT

The site says the course is on Informatics:

Informatics is about using computers to work with
digital information - gathering, using, storing,
retrieving, and visualising information and data.

It's the study of tools and technologies to solve
problems in all types of settings, like finance
	and economics, journalism, biology, health,
	engineering, communication.

To me Informatics is not IT. IT is about creating computers, Informatics is about using computers.

Or do IT students do this as part of their IT course?
