Yes. This is why the privacy case was stymied.

I could walk around parts of Canberra and view the outside of a house  
and tell you what plan they came from (AV Jennings, etc). And with  
very little effort, I can observe - from the street - the size of  
their LCD TV, or where their computer desk is sited. Without too much  
effort, I'm sure that most crooks can find out this kind of  
information already, without resorting to Google Street View.

I spend many lunchtimes at work walking around the local  
neighbourhood: and it surprises me how little Google Street View  
offers compared with what I can see with my own eyes.
