Well I applied for a job at a school that has 60 desktops and CRT 
screens.  They are all about 10-15 years old (I kid you not) and are 
claimed to be "state of the art"

Only about 12 of the machines boot up - so they were desperately 
looking for someone who could come in, asses, repair, make working 
and maintain the environment.

For the wage it wasn't worth it, but for the kids, I'd do anything anyway.

Now as only 12 of the 60 worked and they were turned off most of the 
time, I don't think energy consumption was very high per seat :)
