Only if the minimum wage in Australia is A$4.40/hour.

Californian Minimum wage is US$8/hour, or about A$8.80/hour - significantly
above the US federal minimum of US$5.85/hour.

(I knew studying that poster in the kitchen at work whilst waiting for the
printer would eventually prove beneficial!)
