and it's not unheard of for certain groups to initiate a "write in"
campaign, encouraging members of their extended association to "do their
bit". Religious groups do it, Get up does it, even people with blogs with
readership do it. I'm pretty sure at one time or another someone has put a
plea onto the LINK list for anyone who cares to write a complaint to a
pollie or to a newspaper.
What could make this even worse is if ACMA start displaying some daily count
or score of submissions received .. we've all seen what happens when that
kind of feedback loop is set up (eg. online polls), it becomes more about
simply raising the number rather than providing quality input.
