As opposed to the licensing risks involved with using proprietary
software, which everyone just conveniently sweeps under the carpet
and ignores.

As for the "Linux violates 235 patents" claim, I'm willing to bet that
there'd be at least that many patents held by IBM, Novell, Red Hat,
etc. which Windows Vista could be seen as violating.
