This may be a bit of a long shot. Although I'm not practising as a
lawyer at the moment I'm trying to find an expert witness for a former
colleague.
He needs someone who knows enough about the Microsoft Word binary file
format that they can explain how the "total editing time" and the
dates for "created", "modified" and "accessed" in the document
properties dialog box are manipulated. There is some information
about this at http://www.microsoft.com/interop/docs/OfficeBinaryFormats.mspx
, but not enough.
This is in relation to a criminal case where those values may be
important to the client's defence, in that the police are relying on
the "total editing time" as evidence of how long the client had the
document open. It could be an interesting assignment.
Please let me know if you are interested.
