Tony and all,
Cruising Link homepages <http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link
one cannot but help thinking maybe another up-date might appear in order?
For instance: (please add-to, modify, delete, whatever ..)

Maybe "the development of ICT in Australia, although it strays .."
> Areas of interest vary from time to time but the following

> Public access to the network
Given that mobile phone, wireless, fibre, pots, etc etc networks now exist
maybe this topic might better read, "Public access to all Australian ICT
networks, with reasonable bandwidth and expense expectations."
> Access to government information
Perhaps add, "and decision-making processes"
> Privacy
No change suggested .. privacy says it all?
> Telecommunications legislation
Hmm, what about "ICT-related legislation" as a broader topic, for when we
discuss legislation to do with ICT (eg, web2 gov reports) but not so much
the nuts and bolts of net regs as was necessary in earlier times?
> Censorship and control of content on the network
Still seems relevant .. eg microsoft's content control ..
> Social issues of network behavior such as spam
Perhaps add phishing, ID theft etc
> Role of libraries in open learning
An important point for libraries, not so much for the rest of us?
> Commonwealth/State policies concerning the network
Perhaps .. " .. concerning networks"?
> Electronic commerce
No change ..
> Open/distance learning and the rise of the virtual campus
No change ..
