You're not wrong.

Did you know the ATO can drain your personal or company bank account
to obtain tax owing? I don't think any other agency, government or
otherwise, can do such a thing without having a debit approval form
signed by the account holder.

Once your account has been emptied, you can, if you wish, take the
ATO to court. It will take years to clear up. This has happened to
people I know.
